Our African Daisy Collections…

Inspired by the 60’s flare and the 70’s funk and motivated by the desire for well fitting, figure flattering, fun flowing, pretty party frocks we have embarked upon a thrilling endeavour to achieve garments which exude an essence of effortless elegance and graceful charm. Whatever the age!
Our garments are designed to embrace you in all the right places, celebrating the beauty of your femininity and rejoicing the essence of individuality.

Depending on the design of the garment we use a combination of cotton lycra, viscose lycra and a t- shirting fabric, which are of course all sourced from our local textile shops in Port Elizabeth. All our fabric is chosen for its exceptional quality, silky texture and elegant flow. The tiny bit of synthetic added to the natural blend means that the fabric offers not only a graceful flow but can shake off creases and still offer that effortless comfort, accentuating the splendour of your femininity and ultimately making you feel most elegantly graceful.

viscose - The most common type of rayon. It is produced in much greater quantity than cuprammonium rayon, the other commercial type.

lycra - A DuPont trademark for its spandex fiber. Any time you see this fiber listed on a label, expect comfort, movement, and shape retention that won't wash away.

cotton - A unicellular, natural fiber that grows in the seed pod of the cotton plant. Fibers are typically 1/2 inch to 2 inches long. The longest staple fibers, longer than 1-1/2 inch, including the Pima and Egyptian varieties, produce the highest quality cotton fabrics.

denim - True denim is a twill-weave, cotton-like fabric made with different colored yarns in the warp and the weft. Due to the twill construction, one color predominates on the fabric surface.

Our Sizes…

We offer four different sizes eeny, meeny, miney and mo

Eeny being the smallest size - roughly a uk 6 – 8
Meeny being the mini medium - roughly a uk 8 – 9
Miney being bigger medium - roughly a uk 10
Mo being the biggest size - roughly a uk 12

What if when I receive my goodies the size I have ordered does not fit me?
Do not fret! All you have to do is send your African daisy treat back to us and we will exchange it for a smaller/bigger size. As simple as that! Your happiness is our priority.

Our colours…

Depending on the chosen garment you have a selection of colours to choose from. African Daisy relishes our organically earthy tones which we have chosen especially for their suggestive resemblance to a striking tree, or flirtatious flower. However, if you have a colour in mind which does not appear on our organic colour swatches please do not hesitate to enquire as we would like to for fill your colour desires.

Our connection with our beautiful earth…

Of course embarking upon such an adventure is a wonderful experience for us and we would like to do it in the right way. Acutely aware of declining global conditions we would like to accomplish a growing business, which embraces our world leaving a fragrant blossom rather than a contaminated stain, and ultimately working towards making a difference.! Our intention is to use up every little piece of fabric, to support local, to employ within the community and to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Every little bit counts from our order forms, which are printed on recycled paper to our fabric excess, which is saved and delivered to a charity for aids in Port Elizabeth. I can assure you all this extra care does make a difference!

All that pattern-cutting, scissor happy, project planning generates an enormous amount of excess fabric scraps, which are no longer suitable for us to use. They maybe of no use to us but they are greatly sought after by the Mission Vale Care Centre Charity in Port Elizabeth where these scraps are put to good use in the creation of quilts, toys and other interesting projects. With every purchase the customers new garments are delivered in an African daisy bag, which will not only remind them of their delightfully unique retail experience but will more importantly provide them with a new bag to use as they wish.

We too would like to share the splendour and beauty of the African daisy flower and therefore we have provided you with an exciting little gift. Upon your purchase of a beautiful garment your bag will be carefully tagged with an endearing message. If you look carefully you will see that these tags are delicately created from African daisy seeds. So when you are ready, whip out those garden gloves and dig out that shovel for you are in for a therapeutic gardening experience. Simply find a sunny spot in your garden, dig a hole and pop in the paper, and with one swift rake your seeds will embark upon their magical journey! In no time at all with a little tender care, a dash of rain and a gentle glow of sunshine you too will be able to enjoy the flourishing beauty of the African daisy flower.
